About The Position

The Digital Integrator – Material Management serves as the digital lead and business integrator for material-related processes and data across Cell & Gene Therapy and Biologics Advanced Development. The role owns the development and execution of a clear, end-to-end digital material management strategy spanning development laboratories, pilot plants, quality laboratories, and supply-chain interfaces. The Digital Integrator acts as the bridge between scientists, process and analytical development, manufacturing, quality, logistics, supply chain, Digital & Automation, DOS, and IT. The role ensures that material definitions, identifiers, specifications, status, inventories, genealogy, and usage are consistent, governed, and traceable across MES, ELN, LIMS, BIOVIA, and SAP. The Digital Integrator is responsible for ensuring clear and integrated material management strategy: MES material processes, and batch genealogy ELN and BIOVIA material processes Alignment with SAP The position drives digital transformation that creates a trusted material record across the product lifecycle, reduces manual reconciliation and duplicate master data, improves inventory visibility and right-first-time execution, and enables compliant reporting, analytics, modelling, AI, and end-to-end material traceability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, manufacturing, laboratory informatics, supply chain, or material management environments.
  • Experience working with and integrating execution systems such as MES, ELN, LIMS, BIOVIA, and SAP.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, change management, communication, and facilitation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ontology, semantic identifiers, metadata, reference data, and FAIR data principles.
  • Project, product, or program management experience delivering digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to translate business and scientific needs into scalable digital solutions and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain material management digital strategy for CGT.
  • Establish clear system-of-record boundaries and data ownership across SAP, MES, ELN, BIOVIA, and LIMS.
  • Partner with Business functions to ensure compliance for material management digital processes
  • Ensure the strategy supports both development agility and GxP-compliant manufacturing operations across sites and external partners.
  • Design and implement connected material workflows across SAP, MES, ELN, BIOVIA, and LIMS, minimising manual handoffs and duplicate data entry.
  • Ensure material master data and approved terminology are embedded at the point of execution through governed ontology, metadata, and reference-data standards.
  • Define required integrations and event flows, including material creation and status from SAP, consumption and genealogy in MES, experimental use in ELN and BIOVIA, and testing and release status in LIMS.
  • Enable contextualised material data to flow to enterprise data platforms for reporting, investigations, comparability, modelling, and AI.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in material visibility, traceability, chain of custody, inventory status, expiry management, and data segregation.
  • Drive implementation and sustained adoption of standard material management processes and digital capabilities across participating functions and sites.
  • Translate complex cross-functional workflows into practical requirements, user stories, process designs, and implementation plans.
  • Coordinate training, communications, business readiness, and operating procedures for new material capabilities.
  • Continuously improve the strategy and roadmap using operational performance, user feedback, data-quality results, and evolving business priorities.
