About The Position

The Digital Imaging Engineer participates, as part of the print technology team, in a variety of projects involving research, programming, design, evaluation, implementation, and measurement of technology solutions across Jostens print manufacturing. The incumbent facilitates the development of new processes and new product roll out, and significant manufacturing process changes utilizing Printing industry-specific technology in alignment with strategic growth initiatives. This position supports Printing Technology-related projects using appropriate techniques with general supervision only and ensures that project timelines are created and met. The incumbent serves as a technical expert for business needs relating to Printing technology, and apprised of technology trends, best practices and applications through documentation and team meetings. This position may support and partner with continuous improvement and manufacturing engineers, as needed to drive process improvement and safety goals for the Plant. The incumbent of this role is required to be on call and/or available after hours, to provide their own mobile device, and to distribute their mobile phone number accordingly. Alternatively, individuals may distribute their office phone number if their office phone is set to forward calls to their personal device when they are not physically present.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with Printing Technology including offset, digital, inkjet, binding or cover making/embellishments
• Bachelor’s degree in Printing, Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven ability in one or more of the following technologies: Computer programming including but not limited to Visual Basic, C#, Xojo, Python, Javascript, C++, Ruby, or an understanding of JSON and XML
• Graphics applications including Adobe Suite
• Print Workflow systems including but not limited to Kodak Prinergy, Dalim, HP Indigo, Heidelberg Prinect, Enfocus Switch/Pitstop or EFI
• Well-developed analytical skills and an ability to translate technical data into practical business solutions
• Ability to communicate effectively at any level of the corporation, including making presentations
• Ability to work independently to solve problems using appropriate methods and channels in a timely manner

Nice To Haves

• General understanding of server virtualization, storage (SANs) and network configurations/solutions
• General understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts to include Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FEMA) and Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC).
• Experience with AI/Robotics/Automation
• Database management
• Experience in supporting manufacturing operators, supervisors and/or technicians
• Proven success in project management and participation

• Keep in touch with cutting edge industry technical knowledge
• Facilitate cross functional teams including shop floor support
• Support Plant Safety initiatives & procedures, while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
