About The Position

The Digital Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for running digital printing equipment to manufacture printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Digital press experience preferred; strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail required
  • Ability to work from job tickets, product specifications, and quality standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including 2nd or 3rd shift if required

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines
  • Report all safety concerns or issues to the immediate supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by completing daily housekeeping assignments
  • Complete make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure the correct print file, substrate, inks/toners, coatings, and tooling are used
  • Review and prepare digital print files, including copy, color settings, and layout, before starting the job
  • Complete all required quality checks related to product specifications, including visual and functional checks and all press-side quality checks
  • Operate the digital press to produce product to customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency
  • Maintain consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks include copy, color, registration, and ink/toner adhesion. Ensure conformance to all other quality checks
  • Complete all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard
  • Complete press make-readies in an efficient manner
  • Complete all required equipment maintenance duties
  • Clean print components, ink/toner systems, and press parts as required, and lubricate equipment as needed
  • Enter all required information into the Radius system for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner
