About The Position

The PPR Red Jacket is a badge of honor, symbolizing dedication to San Diego high school football. This role supports Red Jacket Content Creators by developing and publishing digital and social content throughout the week, enhancing Nexstar digital teams and social media efforts. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, stays ahead of the competition, and can create compelling narratives aligned with the KUSI PPR brand.

Requirements

Experience developing and publishing content on digital and social platforms.
Ability to create high-quality graphics using top-flight software.
Understanding of new media tech like gimbels, phones, microphones.
Knowledge of how to use OBS for live streaming, shows, and recordings.
Ability to be a real-time admin for live and curated content.
Experience using webpage construction through sites like Wordpress.
Excellent writer and storyteller with superior “high school football news” judgment.
Knowledge of social media, football, pop culture, and current events.
Experience editing unscripted web content, montages, comedic clips, interviews, and football games.
Great writing and copy editing skills and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive under deadline pressure.
Stellar communication skills.
Must be available every Friday night from mid-August to the Silver Pigskin Gala in December.
Must be able to work “on call” when certain graphic or social needs arise.
Must know football and be able to recognize and create storylines on multiple platforms.
Must thrive in a competitive, fearless culture of creativity and expertise.
Organizational and collaborative skills.
Ability to prioritize.
Must be punctual.
Must be willing to learn and learn quickly.
Must possess clean driving record.
Must have HD quality video gear and sports experience if applying for videography positions.

Responsibilities

Support Red Jacket Content Creators.
Curate content throughout the week.
Develop and publish content on digital and social platforms.
Create high-quality graphics using top-flight software.
Work with new media tech like gimbels, phones, and microphones.
Use OBS for live streaming, shows, and recordings.
Act as a real-time admin for live and curated content.
Utilize webpage construction through sites like Wordpress.
Edit unscripted web content, montages, comedic clips, interviews, and football games.
Create compelling, UX-Focused content related to San Diego High School football news, events, and topics.
Write text stories, create photos/graphics, breaking news stories, and social media elements.
Work with KUSI’s Content Directors (Digital Team) to distribute high interest stories at scale.
