About The Position

ProSmiles Dental Studio is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Digital Dental Lab Technician to join our team. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the complete digital manufacturing workflow, from initial scanning and digital model creation to 3D printing and final output. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of digital dental laboratory processes, ensuring the production of accurate and high-quality restorations and appliances.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating dental laboratory scanners and working with standard dental CAD software (e.g., 3Shape, Exocad, Dental Wings).
  • Demonstrated experience with 3D printing technologies and materials relevant to the dental industry.
  • Familiarity with digital case management systems and tracking digital workflow.
  • Strong technical aptitude for learning and mastering new software and machinery.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently scan physical impressions and stone models using desktop scanners to convert them into high-resolution digital files.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to build, modify, and prepare digital models, ensuring anatomical accuracy and adherence to prescription specifications.
  • Coordinate and operate additive manufacturing equipment (3D printers), including file preparation (nesting, supports), print scheduling, material handling, curing, and post-processing of printed parts (e.g., models, surgical guides).
  • Potentially assist with or coordinate Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) processes, including milling strategies, machine maintenance, and quality control checks for milled restorations.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient digital workflow for all cases, including receiving digital files (intraoral scans), tracking progress, ensuring proper documentation, and coordinating file storage and retrieval.
  • Inspect all digital and physical outputs for precision, ensuring they meet the lab's standards and prescription requirements before proceeding to the next stage.
  • Perform routine maintenance on digital equipment, including scanners, 3D printers, and milling machines, and troubleshoot technical issues related to software, hardware, and file corruption.
