About The Position

This role focuses on creating outstanding visual designs for web applications, incorporating principles of typography, color theory, and logo/icon design, while adhering to usability and web best practices. The specialist will be responsible for translating business concepts into compelling, revenue-generating web pages and integrating them visually with the site's architecture, user interface, and navigation. Collaboration with application development staff is key to producing creative solutions, and maintaining project timelines and quality standards, including ISO 9001, is essential.

Requirements

  • Front end, UI, DOM CSS2 experience.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator CS3, Photoshop CS3, InDesign CS3, PageFlex and Quark 7.
  • Team player with the ability to learn and implement new concepts quickly.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Understanding of web usability issues.
  • Have experience in creating effective interactive user flow.
  • Must be comfortable presenting creative ideas to clients and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Ad agency experience or in-house art department experience preferred.
  • LAMP/PHP a plus.
  • DHTML, XML, and AJAX or understanding of AJAX a plus.
  • Understanding and experience in print production helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Designs HTML prototypes, visual interfaces and interaction of Web-based applications.
  • Implements the user interface designs in HTML, XHTML, and CSS.
  • Uses InDesign, Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and Acrobat.
  • Builds and designs email blasts.
  • Designs while working within the clients brand standards.
  • Translates business concepts and specifications into compelling revenue generating pages.
  • Visually integrates and enhances the site architecture, user interface and navigation.
  • Works with application development staff to produce consistently creative solutions.
  • Keep projects on track within agreed upon schedules and deadlines.
  • Ensures a strong commitment to quality and adheres to all ISO 9001 related standards.
  • Complies with all safety policies and reports any safety issues immediately to a manager.
  • Displays behavior and judgment that consistently upholds Hibbert ACT values.
  • All other duties/responsibilities as deemed appropriate by management.
