About The Position

The digital content manager at Housing New Mexico is responsible for developing original visual and written content in a way that builds the Housing New Mexico brand, educates the public about affordable housing and Housing New Mexico’s economic impact in the state, and provokes engagement across all digital channels. Housing New Mexico’s digital content manager will partner with the Director of Communications and Marketing to create, publish, and manage all forms of internal and external digital content to effectively describe and promote Housing New Mexico, its programs and its objectives through the use of social media, video, photography, website, digital marketing and e-mail blasts. Use website and social media analytics and metrics to recommend effective marketing and best practice digital strategies. Serve as back-up for constituent inquiries received from Customer Relationship Management system via the website.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree from an accredited college or university in social media management, business or marketing communications, marketing, public relations or other communications arts.
  • A minimum of four years of full-time work experience in the marketing/communications/social media field.
  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Deep understanding of major social media trends and channels and the ability to analyze analytical data.
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and the ability to create graphics for social media.
  • Proficient in planning, recording, and editing audio and video.
  • Proficient in shooting and editing still photos.
  • Intermediate graphic design layout, design, and editing skills for digital and print materials.
  • Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills.
  • Experience in creating and adapting content for use on a variety of social media platforms.
  • A high level of creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a project from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice to effectively represent Housing New Mexico.
  • Ability to maintain well-organized materials, files, systems, and tools.
  • Proficient in managing changes in work situations and priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, supervisors, or managers in the work unit and other departments, as well as with employees of outside entities and other individuals.
  • Must have and maintain a valid NM Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Expression Engine, HeyOrca, and HubSpot.
  • Familiarity with Nikon cameras and mirrorless cameras.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Housing New Mexico website, ensuring it is up-to-date with brand standards and compliance regulations, and manage both the intranet photo library and public-facing website.
  • Manage internal website edit requests, workflows, and approvals in partnership with all Housing New Mexico departments.
  • Provide staff training and monitoring for website content management.
  • Perform monthly reporting on website analytics and performance, and manage Search Engine Optimization (SEO) opportunities.
  • Partner with the Director to determine social media marketing opportunities, including audience engagement, advertising spend, and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Craft original social media posts (2-4 per week) for platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Monitor and facilitate online conversations to ensure timely responsiveness.
  • Dedicate 2-4 hours weekly to proactive/outbound digital engagement.
  • Draft quarterly social media content calendars.
  • Provide written digital content showcasing Housing New Mexico’s programs, partners, and clients, and educating the public about affordable housing.
  • Define and recommend strategies to grow the Housing New Mexico brand and increase followers and engagement using analytic tools and metrics.
  • Follow and report regularly on emerging social media and digital marketing trends.
  • Develop and manage social media/digital advertising campaigns and contests in collaboration with key staff, the Director, and vendors, managing costs within the marketing department budget.
  • Recommend and manage paid digital advertising and boosted posts based on analytics and direction from key staff, within the marketing department budget.
  • Create and distribute e-blasts under the direction of the Director and Digital Content Manager-Level II/Level III.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for new tools, technologies, and channels to increase Housing New Mexico’s social and digital marketing presence, managing costs and implementation.
  • Maintain updated contacts in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, work with external web development vendors and the Housing New Mexico IT Department on API maintenance, manage employee CRM user accounts, and provide employee training on the CRM system.
  • Serve as back-up for constituent inquiries received from the CRM system via the website.
  • Create training videos for partners and customers as requested, in collaboration with key staff.
  • Create informational videos about Housing New Mexico, its programs, and affordable housing by creating storyboards, shooting, and editing video, or coordinating with outside vendors for larger productions, managing costs within the marketing department budget.
  • Create testimonial videos with constituents and partners for various internal and external meetings.
  • Capture, edit, and archive high-quality photos for print materials, the website, and digital channels.
  • Organize small-scale photoshoots with external vendors, managing costs within the marketing department budget.
  • Maintain accessible and organized video and photo project archives.
  • Obtain signed photo/video release forms prior to shoots with external individuals and organizations and maintain an organized electronic filing system for these forms.
  • Assist with creating, editing, and updating electronic and print materials using graphic design software like the Adobe Suite, under the direction of the Digital Content Manager-Level II/Level III and/or the Director.
  • Edit images as needed for new electronic or printed collateral.
  • Create meaningful content and effective stories through conceptualizing, writing, and editing for various channels.
  • Assist with editing documents and electronic presentations generated throughout the organization, distributing them as requested.
  • Assist in the design and production of Housing New Mexico publications, including the online Housing Services Directory, annual report, and newsletters.
  • Assist with ensuring consistent use of Housing New Mexico logos according to branding guides, including those used by external organizations.
  • Assist with graphics, slide shows, photography, and print materials for all-staff meetings and company-wide events.
