About The Position

Operate and maintain automated perfect binding line and casing-in equipment to production standards and quality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong knowledge of computer-controlled machinery in a production environment
• Good mechanical, math (ability to read a ruler, add, subtract), communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability and willingness to work overtime

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience on bindery equipment

Responsibilities

• Operate automated perfect binding equipment (load, jog, feed) and trimming equipment (stack, unload) to production standards and quality
• Analyze and interpret job jackets and print-on-demand sheets to thoroughly understand the needs of the customer, communicating those instructions to co-workers
• Cross train to assist on the hardcover casing-in equipment
• Constantly monitor quality of finished product to ensure customer’s satisfaction
• Perform technical maintenance of the machinery and trouble shooting
• Maintain accurate record keeping on timesheets and logbooks; understand and utilize corresponding digital software systems
• Accurately communicate to the next shift and other co-workers the status of jobs being processed
• Operate hand jack to move work throughout the department and deliver all completed work to the shipping area
• Assist with housekeeping in the digital bindery area
• Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees. Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPEs, Ergonomics, etc.
• Demonstrate willingness to cross train in multiple job functions
• Other duties as assigned
