Lilly is constructing multiple advanced API manufacturing facilities to support current and future products across new modalities. This includes greenfield sites with several standalone, highly flexible GMP drug substance facilities — along with supporting site infrastructure, utilities, laboratories, administrative offices, and warehousing. These facilities will produce drug substances spanning small molecules, biologics, and nucleic acid therapies. The Digital Automation Engineer will be part of the Corporate Engineering Technology Center, specifically Global Process and Control Engineering (GPACE). This role will be part of a team that develops central automation solutions to streamline and reduce cost of delivery for large scale capital projects in the Drug Substance (API) manufacturing network. These solutions include, but not limited to, CLASS Module library for DeltaV and other applications, digital transformation tools, and building delivery applications integrating AI that eliminate manual work. The role will also be involved in developing a strategic profile for these solutions with a strong focus on DeltaV DCS and associated digital tools. GPACE (Global Process Automation & Control Engineering) Lilly's corporate automation team is responsible for automation standards, measurement and process control solutions, training, and capital project delivery support across the global manufacturing network.
