About The Position

As part of Grainger’s vision to become a global leader in product information, connecting with suppliers and leveraging relationships to seamlessly gather product content is core to building and maintaining a foundation for Grainger digital Merchandising to grow into the 21st century. Product Information Supplier Engagement will perform a critical role in achieving this vision. Effectively gathering content requires digital asset management. In this role, the Digital Asset Specialist is responsible for the retrieval, receipt, review, storage and organization of Grainger’s supplier provided digital assets, including product information data extracts and supplier product content. This role is critical to understanding what supplier provided digital assets are available to support Grainger’s merchandising work, and for helping ensure the assets are easily handed off and accessed by business partners when needed. Success in this role is evidenced by well-ordered assets that are easily able to be identified and retrieved when needed to support Grainger initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing large volumes of product information and content.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to keep thorough yet concise records.
  • Working knowledge of business objectives including merchandising strategy, product information, and supplier management.
  • Proficiency with Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with category review, new product introduction, and other merchandising processes preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish - read, write, speak).

Responsibilities

  • Receive supplier digital assets including product global attributes, merchandising data, and rich content.
  • Review assets against any applicable standards, documenting and following the appropriate processes to address any rejected assets.
  • Inventory and catalogue assets, documenting relevant information as necessary, including supplier information, contents, and scope.
  • Store and maintain organization of assets in digital asset management repository.
  • Update, maintain, and dispose of assets as required by applicable retention standards.
  • Retrieve assets from supplier websites, portals, and third-party systems as needed.
  • Expert user of digital asset management databases and other technologies as applicable.
  • Work closely and communicate clearly with Sr, Supplier Syndication Specialists and Sr. Supplier Engagement Specialists.
  • Partner with internal business partners to locate and hand off assets as needed for use.
