About The Position

State Street is seeking a Digital Asset Operations and Client Engagement Lead, Vice President, for its newly launched Digital Assets Operations team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all digital asset capabilities as they are brought to market. The position is crucial for building the future digital infrastructure of financial markets, ensuring operational excellence in all capabilities. The Digital Assets Operations team designs and implements the operational model for digital assets within Global Delivery teams, supporting the enterprise strategy for State Street Digital. This is an opportunity for an agile manager to lead the development of financial market digital infrastructure. The role reports to the Head of Digital Asset Operations and collaborates with Product Development, IT, Business, Governance & Controls, Risk, Compliance, Global Delivery, and Sales teams to service institutional clients. It also involves engaging with external partners and vendors throughout the product lifecycle, from development to operations in approved jurisdictions. The role requires experience in client engagement, operations management, traditional investment services (custody, payments, trading, securities servicing, process), compliance, process documentation, and an understanding of next-generation technologies like DLT, digital custody, cryptocurrencies, wallet technology, and tokenization. Experience in business transformation and change management is also necessary.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in operations and client engagement for traditional and digital products for large institutions
  • Hands-on experience with digital assets and wallets / distributed ledger technology
  • Experience in change management in business transformation initiatives
  • Understanding of relevant enterprise financial technology solutions and related governance
  • Excellent presentation, communications, collaboration and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Fluent in English – oral and written – is a must
  • Extensive experience (personal or professional) with digital assets
  • Ability to work online with globally distributed teams
  • Ability to escalate risks and decision points quickly to the appropriate stakeholders, whether that be functional leadership, digital leadership, and/or project leadership
  • Executing on a project as a critical stakeholder, including excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Engage effectively with business partners to ensure risks and controls in new models are understood and appropriately managed, and to ensure that the business operates in compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
  • Constructively challenge the status quo; collaborate with State Street Digital product teams, Compliance and State Street Global Delivery SMEs as “one team” to help accelerate product development and delivery cycles

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the day-to-day digital operations across all value streams to deliver digital capabilities to our clients
  • Oversee and ensure that the operations team is fully prepared for each new product or service launch

  • Manage risks, resources, and stakeholder communications across the program
  • Provide regular communication and reporting updates to ensure full transparency and clarity
