Requirements

  • BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master’s a plus) or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for K–12 and/or adults.
  • Digital art skills in the Adobe Suite and Procreate
  • Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.
  • Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment
  • Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students-first” mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Visual Art, Art Education or Design

Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly art (Manga, Cartooning, Animation) and / or digital art classes from 3pm to 7pm during the week and during the day on Saturdays and Sundays for a variety of ages
  • Ensure student success in the studio and lab by actively engaging with students and teachers to observe, document and communicate their progress and opportunities for growth
  • Conduct proactive check-ins with parents, students and families, support makeup scheduling, discuss student progress and opportunities for growth, upsells to additional classes / camps.
  • Review lesson plans/resources on time and implement the One River Method through each class effectively and contribute to lesson plan development regularly
  • Maintain the digital lab, Clean and organize studio spaces and student artwork and oversee digital lab maintenance
