About The Position
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for overseeing the nutritional well-being of all residents and patients. This position assists with planning, organizing, and directing the administrative and operational activities of the Food and Nutritional Services Department, ensuring compliance with facility policies, clinical best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and current licensure in the state of Mississippi
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, regulatory standards, and sanitation guidelines
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare-related setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide dietary services in accordance with state/federal regulations and facility guidelines
- Develop and adapt individualized nutritional care plans based on medical needs and resident preferences
- Complete and document nutritional assessments and re-assessments in a timely manner
- Implement age-specific and culturally appropriate dietary strategies and interventions
- Ensure menus are seasonally and culturally appropriate, meet nutritional standards, and align with resident needs
- Collaborate with facility leadership on dietary policies, procedures, and staff training plans
- Provide education and competency training to food services and clinical staff
- Assist in survey readiness and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards
- Monitor departmental practices to improve workflow and ensure sanitation, safety, and infection control compliance
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
