About The Position

Provides medical nutrition therapy using evidence-based practice to optimize patient care. Provides consultation to the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective nutrition care to patients. Monitors and evaluates patient care and nutrition outcomes on an ongoing basis. Educates patients, healthcare members, dietetic interns, and members of the community. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities with the Nutrition Services Department. Maintains customer service, patient-centered approach at all times when fulfilling job duties. Meets the qualifications to provide care to patients in the assigned clinical areas.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
Completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
Licensure as a Dietitian in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
Board certification in specialty areas (e.g., CNSC, CSO).
Experience in outpatient clinical nutrition counseling.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
