About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Dietitian for the Student Health Clinical Department in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves assessing patient nutrition status, developing and implementing nutrition care plans, providing nutrition education and counseling, and training dietetic interns and other healthcare students. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist - Tennessee
  • Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Nutrition Therapy (Novice)
  • Patient Counseling (Novice)
  • Dietetic Patient Assessment (Novice)
  • Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice (Novice)

Responsibilities

  • Assesses nutrition status and implements nutrition care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses for patients with common medical conditions, using the Nutrition Care Process and standardized nutrition terminology in documentation.
  • Monitors nutrition progress and reassesses nutrition status of patients/clients with common medical conditions, adjusting the nutrition care plan when needed.
  • Provides nutrition counseling and education to patients, families and caregivers, and the community, using evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and appropriate instructional methods and tools.
  • Trains dietetic interns and other students by planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating clinical experiences and/or teaching classes.
