About The Position

The Dietitian (Registered Dietitian) is a member of a multidisciplinary team that assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of a patient's nutrition care. The Dietitian is able to use validated tools to identify patients that require nutrition interventions or that have the potential for developing nutrition related problems. They provide a nutrition assessment which may include anthropometric measures and/or growth measures, pertinent biochemical data and medical test results; a nutrition focused physical exam and a food and nutrition –related history assessment. They identify specific nutrition related problem(s) and they provide specific, purposeful interventions to improve or change the nutrition and health status for their patient or client. They provide a nutrition diagnosis of malnutrition using approved, evidence based criteria. They provide nutrition education to individuals and/or caregivers. They assist in the management of the department resources. They support orientation, training and education for department and medical center staff. This role is part of the Providence Swedish team at Swedish Ballard, focusing on patient-focused, whole-person care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Internship
  • Washington Dietitian Certification (Within 6 months (180 days) of hire)
  • Washington Nutritionist Certification (Within 6 months (180 days) of hire)
  • National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration (Upon hire)
