About The Position

Join our team as a day, Dietitian Registered, at INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital, in Enid, OK. The Dietitian Registered works to affect the nutritional care of individuals and groups by functioning as a member of the patient care team in providing evidence-based clinical nutrition care within assigned areas, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This position actively engages in Performance Improvement projects, serves as a nutrition expert in various forums, and assists in training nutrition assistants and food service staff. Additionally, the Dietitian Registered identify patients at nutrition risk and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy services under the guidance of experienced clinicians or management. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nutrition or related field completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)-approved program
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, with an emphasis in diet therapy, human physiology, chemistry, and/or adult education from an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)-approved program
  • RD (Registered Dietician) or Provisional RD (Registered Dietician). Must obtain full RD within 90 days of hire
  • Licensed by the State of Oklahoma Dietetics Licensing Board or Provisional Licensed, must obtain letter within 90 days of hire
  • Registration or registry eligible by the Academy Of Nutrition and Dietetics

Responsibilities

  • Provides nutrition and patient consultation as directed by the medical staff
  • Assists in the coordination of food service and nutrition care delivery systems
  • Maintains notes in patient medical record which document care provided, including nutritional screens, assessments, instructions given, and patient progress
  • Attends discharge planning rounds on assigned areas and stays in regular contact with unit supervisors and nurses to enhance patient nutritional care
  • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates nutrition education for patients; arranges for individual patient follow-up as needed
  • Visits patients regularly in assigned work area to determine adequacy and appropriateness of both diet order and oral intake
  • Develops a nutrition care plan which includes long- and short-term objectives, treatment modalities, education needs, on-going information gathering, and evaluation
