About The Position

Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy for Oncology patients. Located in the heart of Washington, we enjoy open skies, snow-capped mountains, and the lakes and rivers of the high desert. We are the proud home of orchards, farms, and small communities. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field (or Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition of related field with Internship completed before 12/31/2023).
  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) - (may apply upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Washington State Food Handlers Permit.
  • WA DOH Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) License (apply after hire).
  • Must be proficient with Windows navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree.
  • 2 years of nutrition inpatient or outpatient counseling experience.
  • Advanced/Board Certification.
  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or ASPEN registration.
  • Electronic Medical Records experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nutrition therapy and counseling for Oncology patients.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the stages of change in relation to behavior modification and nutrition.
  • Participate in and run nutrition education classes including cancer survivorship and staff in-services. May include cooking classes and multimedia venues.
  • Utilizes community resources and programs to assist patients in their plan of care.
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. Able to organize and set work priorities in a multi-task environment.
  • Display a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Complete chart notes per organizational goals.
  • Participates in LEAN performance improvement and research activities.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
