The Dietitian Nutritionist will assess and monitor the nutritional status of patients/clients, adjusting nutritional care as indicated. This role involves providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT)/counseling, including assessment, education, and developing/monitoring MNT plans. The position requires communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into the total patient care program. Responsibilities include completing all required documentation in a timely and professional manner, providing and assessing patient/client and family education, and developing/utilizing appropriate educational materials. The role also involves providing periodic in-services on selected topics to team members and other disciplines, and under the guidance of the manager, participating in the training and mentoring of team members and dietetic interns. Additionally, the Dietitian Nutritionist will teach and disseminate nutrition research findings to medical team members, nursing, pharmacy, patients, and the public, and communicate with multidisciplinary departments on patient care issues.
