About The Position

This position is for a Dietitian Nutritionist within Advocate Health Stanly - Clinic: Diabetes. The role is full-time, benefits-eligible, with a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, and occasional evenings. The position requires a current license or certification to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Dietitian in the applicable state. A Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification is preferred, and if not already certified, must be obtained within two to three years. The role requires a degree in Nursing, Dietetics, or a related discipline that meets CDCES eligibility. A BSN is preferred if the degree is in nursing. A Master's degree in Dietetics is required if the Dietitian license was obtained after 01/01/2024. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of patient-oriented educational experience with broad knowledge of diabetes and its interrelation to other health conditions. Strong communication, organizational, time management, and public speaking skills are essential, along with the ability to be self-directed and adapt to changes.

Requirements

  • Current license or certification to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Dietitian, in the State of applicable state.
  • Degree in Nursing, Dietetics, or other related disciplines that meet the certification eligibility requirements for CDCES.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and effective time management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in daily routine.
  • Skills in public speaking (or potential to develop) for group/education classes or professional speaking opportunities.
  • Self-directed.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred.
  • If not certified, you must obtain certification within two years preferred but not to exceed 3 years.
  • If nursing degree, BSN preferred.
  • Master's degree in Dietetics required if Dietician license obtained after 01/01/2024.
  • 2 years of patient-oriented educational experience preferred with a broad range of knowledge on diabetes for age-appropriate population and its interrelation to co-existing health conditions.
