About The Position

Sentara Health is hiring a Clinical Dietitian in Gloucester, Virginia. This is a Full-Time, day shift opportunity in an outpatient rehab therapy center. As an Clinical Dietitian, you are responsible for the assessment and nutritional management of acute and chronic disease in the outpatient setting. May include individual and group counseling, culinary nutrition, community outreach, public education and scheduling. Develops and/or implements a comprehensive care plan based on assessment and evaluation of patient/caregiver needs. Performs nutrition assessment of a wide variety of acute and chronic disease states, individual and group counseling, culinary nutrition. Serves as a Sentara representative for health fairs, media outreach, and community presentations. Communicates and collaborates with providers and other members of the healthcare team for referrals, clinical diagnostic data, weekly rounds and any other patient care meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • BLS is required to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Verification statements required for those candidates awaiting RD credentialing.
  • If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
  • NBCOT (National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification is required within 6 months of eligibility.
