About The Position

The Dietetics Support position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to feeding patients and customers in the Bothwell Café. This position reports directly to the Dietetics Managers.

Requirements

  • Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to perform simple math computations.
  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
  • Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-preparation and preparation of food items needed for patient tray line, cafe foods, and patient nourishments.
  • Keeps assigned work areas cleaned by: Starting each shift with sanitation bucket with solution and cleaning towel, wipe complete working area with sanitation solution. Place dirty dishes on station and transfer to dish room as needed. Completing the general assigned cleaning duties, depending on assigned work position for that shift.
  • Set-up/clean-up of patient and/or cafeteria tray line with food, beverages, and serving utensils, and placing any leftover food items in appropriate place following safety and sanitation standards.
  • Cafe Duties to include: Operating Cash Register, Preparing the assigned food items for that shift, including preparation of salad bar items for breakfast and then transitioning to lunch. Keeping beverage station filled by brewing tea/ coffee as needed, stocking beverage station with all items, stocking condiment station, stocking food lines with disposables, stocking soda and dessert stations as needed. Wiping down counters, tables and chairs in cafeteria. Keeping food service areas tidy, clean, and sanitized.
  • Every position is responsible for Warewashing, including washing, drying, and sanitizing of all dishes, flatware, pots and pans for patient and cafe.
  • Checking chemical levels at all shifts and replacing warewashing chemicals and 3 sink cleaning areas as needed.
  • Responsible for recording of food, refrigeration, and/or dish machine wash and rinse temperatures per assigned work area.
  • Operates food equipment and maintains equipment following cleaning and sanitizing guidelines.
  • Answers phone and completes patients’ menus according to physician orders.
  • Delivers and returns meal trays and passes meal trays to patients, fulfilling patient requests as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
