About The Position

The Dietetics Support position performs a variety of tasks related to feeding patients and serving customers in the Bothwell Café. The position reports directly to the Dietetics Manager. Duties include preparing food for patient tray lines and nourishments, maintaining clean work areas, setting up and cleaning tray lines, cooking and serving food in the café, washing and sanitizing dishes, recording food and equipment temperatures, and operating food-service equipment and a cash register. The role also involves answering phones, completing patient menus according to physician orders, and delivering and retrieving meal trays while responding to patient requests.

Requirements

Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
Able to perform simple math computations.
Food-service background preferred.
Will receive on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

Prepare food items for patient tray lines and patient nourishments.
Clean assigned work areas, including sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, cleaning containers and grates, stocking paper towels and soap dispensers, and completing other assigned cleaning duties.
Set up and clean up patient and/or cafeteria tray lines with food, beverages, and serving utensils; store leftover food appropriately according to safety and sanitation standards.
Cook food on the grill and serve customers in the café.
Wash, dry, and sanitize dishes, flatware, pots, and pans.
Record food, refrigeration, and/or dish machine/rinse temperatures.
Operate food-service equipment and maintain it according to cleaning and sanitizing guidelines; operate the cash register.
Answer phones and complete patient menus according to physician orders.
Deliver and retrieve meal trays, pass trays to patients, and fulfill patient requests as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
