About The Position

This is a Full Time position in Houston, TX 77074. The role involves conducting all work tasks with constant attention to safety for self and others, abiding by Seven Acre's policies and procedures, and reporting hazardous conditions or needed repairs. The position requires monitoring floors for spills, communicating verbally with residents regarding their needs, and maintaining a professional demeanor. A key aspect of the role is working with the Rabbi and Mashgisch to ensure compliance with Kosher laws. The position also involves interacting appropriately with dementia residents, maintaining their safety and security, and performing various cleaning and sanitation duties within the kitchen and dishroom areas. This includes cleaning tables, shelves, work areas, dishes, equipment, and floors, as well as managing waste and recycling. Additionally, the role requires preparing and delivering meal carts, monitoring temperatures, and assisting with inventory and organization of food storage.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all work tasks with constant attention to safety for self & others
  • Abide by Seven Acre’s policy & procedures
  • Report hazardous conditions & needed repairs to equipment & building
  • Monitor floors for spills, slippery areas utilizing “Wet Floor” signs to mark or immediately clean up
  • Communicate verbally with residents regarding their needs & report information as appropriate
  • Always conduct self & appearance in a professional manner
  • Work with Rabbi & Mashgisch to ensure compliance with Kosher laws
  • Interact appropriately with dementia residents by directing, validating, queuing, and giving them space & time for reproaching for care & intervention
  • Maintain safety & security for dementia residents throughout the campus, with special attention to dementia care units
  • Clean all tables, shelves & work areas in the kitchen
  • Scrap plate waste from plates & take dirty dishes to dish-room
  • Place trash in dumpster & boxes in recycling
  • Mop floor as necessary
  • Remove required items from freezer to thaw using proper thawing techniques
  • Scrub walls, doors, sinks & equipment in kitchen & dish-room
  • Fill paper towel & soap dispensers
  • Gather nourishments & floor supplies for nursing units
  • Wash dishes in pot & pan sink & dishroom
  • Deliver meal tray carts to units
  • Place clean dishes in appropriate storage areas
  • Clean, refill & maintain water in steam tables
  • Take & record temperatures of dish machine
  • Report to supervisor any policy & procedure not followed by employees
  • Deliver meal hot & cold carts to dining room & return to kitchen after use
  • Clean all kitchen equipment & machinery
  • Maintain & check sanitizing solution in pot & pan sinks, record on required form
  • Clean out the drains in the floor in the kitchen
  • Clean outside of storage bins
  • Make sure all utensils are clean & put away properly
  • Clean can opener
  • Pick up mats to clean floors & replace when complete
  • Clean inside & outside of microwaves
  • Assist with putting away all meat & grocery orders
  • Clean & organize dry storerooms, including sweeping, mopping & dusting
  • Clean the inside & outside of the Burlodge carts
  • Clean & organize coolers & freezer
  • Clean & organize clean dish area & receiving end of dish-room
