About The Position

Heartland Behavioral Health has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in both acute as well as residential programs for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper. Heartland programs are provided with a focus on Trauma Informed Care. Heartland is nestled within 50 secluded acres in Nevada, Missouri, providing the perfect rural area setting for our residents to heal and grow. A reprieve from everyday life, our peaceful environment allows residents to reconnect with themselves and others. We also offer leisure activities, such as baseball, basketball and an equestrian program, that allow children and adolescents to enjoy themselves while building self-confidence, trust and teamwork. Requirements

  • Graduate of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Have knowledge of standard nutritional and environmental practices, techniques, equipment and supplies.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanittary requirements of food preparation and serving.
  • Sufficient strength to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be 21 years or older

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in nutritional work is desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Completes dietary prep work to aid the Cook in preparing meals.
  • Participates in serving proper portions to the patients on serving lines.
  • Completes cleaning assignments, dishwashing and posts/pans washing on a timely basis.
  • Cleans and services facility areas to ensure the safety, helath, and morale of patients, visitors, and employees.
  • For the resident/patient's recover, they help provide a clean, attactive, safe environment with minimal interference to others.
  • Responsible for preparing and cooking desserts.
  • Maintains a clean workspace and cafeteria, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, and completing logs recording cleaning in a timeley manner.
  • Uses and maintains various kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, slicer, ovens, ect.
  • Prepares, assembles, disassembles, and cleans salad bar.
  • Prepare and package dietary snacks for delivery to units, while aware of patient dietary orders and restrictions.
  • Restocks dietary supplies, chemicals, and paper goods.
  • Fulfills requisitions from hospital staff.
