About The Position

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dietary staff during assigned shifts. Assign work responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Monitor meal preparation, tray assembly, meal delivery, and sanitation procedures to ensure quality and timeliness. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and food safety standards, including HACCP guidelines. Train, mentor, and provide ongoing support to new and existing employees. Assist with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and shift coverage as directed by management. Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management. Conduct routine quality assurance checks to ensure patient diet orders are followed accurately. Promote excellent customer service by responding promptly to patient, visitor, and staff concerns. Address employee concerns and resolve routine operational issues while escalating more complex concerns appropriately. Participate in department meetings, performance improvement initiatives, and continuing education. Perform dietary aide duties as needed to maintain efficient department operations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret diet orders and follow standardized recipes.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with food service software preferred.
  • Servsafe certificate for safe food handler or manager level- if not current, must complete within 60 days of new position.
  • Abides by all HIPAA (Health Information and Portability Accountability Act) guidelines.
