About The Position

The Dietetics Support position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to feeding patients and customers in the Bothwell Café. This role involves food preparation, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, serving food, operating equipment, and interacting with patients and customers.

Requirements

  • Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Able to perform simple math computations.

Nice To Haves

  • Food service background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-preparation and preparation of food items needed for patient tray line and patient nourishments.
  • Keeps assigned work areas cleaned by: sweeping and mopping of department’s floors, removal of trash and cleaning of containers, stocking of paper towels and soap dispensers, cleaning of grates, and completing the general assigned cleaning duties.
  • Set-up/clean-up of patient and/or cafeteria tray line with food, beverages, and serving utensils, and placing any leftover food items in appropriate place following safety and sanitation standards.
  • Cooks food on the grill and serves food to customers in the café.
  • Responsible for washing, drying, and sanitizing of all dishes, flatware, pots and pans.
  • Responsible for recording of food, refrigeration, and/or dish machine/rinse temperatures.
  • Operates food equipment and maintains equipment following cleaning and sanitizing guidelines. Operates cash register.
  • Answers phone and completes patients’ menus according to physician orders. Delivers and returns meal trays and passes meal trays to patients, fulfilling patient requests as needed.
  • Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
  • Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.
