About The Position

Cobble Hill Health Center is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in working within a healthcare environment and is familiar with various diet orders. This position involves managing the day to day operations of food production, purchasing, scheduling, training, sanitation, and patient services. The position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule which may involve evenings (up to 8pm) and would require weekend and holiday work. As the Dietary supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of dietary workers as well as enforcing safety and sanitation and establishing departmental and facility policies.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Food Service Supervisor, or two (3) years as lead dietary worker preferred
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced production area
  • Must be capable of making quick, rational management decisions based on sound Food Service principles
  • Completion of an approved 90-120 hour Dietary Managers' course, or equivalent.
  • ServSafe certification required within 1st Year.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Dietary Manager certificate/AAS or BS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises and evaluates dietary workers.
  • Indirectly supervises cooks, food service workers, pot room, and receiving.
  • Prepares daily assignment sheets.
  • Directly responsible for ordering.
  • Able to prepare payroll with employee sick calls and submits them to the Payroll for processing.
  • Participates in disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Provides job training as needed for dietary workers.
  • Completes orientation sheets with new employees, answering questions, supplying information, and making recommendations as required.
  • Supervises production for portion control, tray appearance, and sanitation techniques.
  • Supervises the daily operation of the dish room.
  • Supervises the general cleaning program and documents completed tasks.
  • Takes and records necessary temperatures and chemical concentration information on designated sheets and takes appropriate action if needed.
  • Notifies the Director of the need for any major repairs.
  • Completes and sends repair requests to Maintenance on routine problems.
  • Supervises the catering operation as requests are received.
