About The Position

Come join us at Carmel Terrace! A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Independent and Assisted Living facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. Located on lush, manicured lawns and gardens in Framingham, MA, we are just minutes from Route 9 for easy access to the Mass Pike. We are seeking to hire a Dietary Director / Food Service Manager / Executive Chef.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in food service management.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
  • Servsafe certification required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to operate standard food production equipment.
  • Must have solid PC skills: MS Office Suite and other office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write and read English.
  • A passion for helping seniors.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in culinary arts and management or successful completion of a reputable course in food service operation, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nutrition services according to policies and procedures, and federal and state requirements.
  • Oversee the budget and purchasing of food and supplies, and the preparation, service, and storage of food.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, evaluate, reward, discipline, and terminate employees in cooperation with human resources department as needed.
  • Develop work schedules to ensure adequate staff to cover each shift.
  • Maintain the food service department and equipment in clean, compliant and working condition.
  • Determine resident diet needs and develop appropriate dietary plans in cooperation with Registered Dietitian and in compliance with physician’s orders.
  • Work with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that modified texture or therapeutic diets are in compliance with the resident’s medical condition.
  • Address all concerns are resolved, improved, or addressed to improve the resident’s nutritional status and eating function.
