About The Position

Come join us at Carmel Terrace! A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Independent and Assisted Living facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. Located on lush, manicured lawns and gardens in Framingham, MA, we are just minutes from Route 9 for easy access to the Mass Pike. We are seeking to hire a Dietary Director / Food Service Manager / Executive Chef.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years in food service management.
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
Servsafe certification required.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must be able to operate standard food production equipment.
Must have solid PC skills: MS Office Suite and other office equipment.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write and read English.
A passion for helping seniors.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree in culinary arts and management or successful completion of a reputable course in food service operation, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide nutrition services according to policies and procedures, and federal and state requirements.
Oversee the budget and purchasing of food and supplies, and the preparation, service, and storage of food.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, evaluate, reward, discipline, and terminate employees in cooperation with human resources department as needed.
Develop work schedules to ensure adequate staff to cover each shift.
Maintain the food service department and equipment in clean, compliant and working condition.
Determine resident diet needs and develop appropriate dietary plans in cooperation with Registered Dietitian and in compliance with physician’s orders.
Work with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that modified texture or therapeutic diets are in compliance with the resident’s medical condition.
Address all concerns are resolved, improved, or addressed to improve the resident’s nutritional status and eating function.
