About The Position
Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents’ dietary needs while supporting their overall health and satisfaction. Your work will play an important role in creating a positive dining experience and enhancing quality of care.
Requirements
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred
- Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus
- Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable with strong attendance and punctuality
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
- Modify meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
- Assist with monitoring inventory and communicating supply needs to leadership
- Properly store and label food to ensure freshness and compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with dietary staff and the clinical team to support residents’ nutritional needs
- Assist with meal service and ensure appropriate portion control
