About The Position

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join their team. The Dietary Department plays a vital role in patient care by preparing safe, nutritious, and well-balanced meals in accordance with clinical guidelines and dietary needs. The department is supported by an energetic and motivated leadership team that is implementing positive changes and strengthening food service operations. Requirements

Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding food preparation and serving of food.

Nice To Haves

High school or the equivalency is preferred.
"ServSafe" certification is preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

Ordering, stocking, preparation, serving, presentation, and documentation of food according to established policies and procedures.
Serving special diets when applicable as ordered by the physician and approved by the dietician.
Ensuring meals delivered by the consulting food service agency are properly placed in warming carts and food temperatures are within regulatory guidelines.
Monitoring the temperature of refrigerators, warming carts, and other equipment used in the dining room.
Assisting patients with beverages and food choices when applicable.
Working cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary team and contributing to a positive work environment.
Participating in rotation of evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Performing related duties as required.
Attending all-staff meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor.
Attending daily shift report when reporting for duty.
Attending all training as required by supervisor.
Attending and actively participating daily in multidisciplinary staffing.
Attending and participating in departmental meetings.
Serving on projects as delegated.
