Dietary Cook
About The Position
Treasure Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Dietary Cook to join their team. This role involves preparing tasty and pleasant-looking meals that meet the dietary requirements established by physician's orders, including substituting menu items as needed. The cook will also be responsible for ensuring food items are appropriately stocked, labeled, and fresh, and for covering and storing unused food according to quality and safety standards. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a clean work environment by cleaning work surfaces during the shift ('clean as you go'), cleaning floors, wiping down counter space, and completing the daily cleaning schedule before the end of the shift.
Requirements
- Cooking experience in large quantities is required
- Ability to follow recipes and diet restrictions
Responsibilities
- Prepare tasty and pleasant looking meals
- Meet the dietary requirements established by the physician’s order; including substituting menu items as needed
- Assure food items are appropriately stocked, labeled & fresh
- Cover and store unused food according to standards & procedures for assuring quality and safety of food
- Cleans work surfaces during shift – clean as you go: clean floors, wipe down counter space, and completes the daily cleaning schedule prior to shift end
