Requirements

  • Ability to prepare meals in accordance with diet orders.
  • Knowledge of portion control and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to wash, sanitize, and store dishes and adaptive feeding equipment.
  • Skill in receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Ability to ensure proper labeling of food.
  • Ability to maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices.
  • Understanding of Federal and State regulations and Dietary Department policies.
  • Ability to follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Skill in taking daily attendance and preparing tray tickets.
  • Willingness to attend and participate in training, in-services, and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of food and is responsible for serving meals, snacks, beverages and nutrition supplements using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
  • Prepare meals in accordance to diet orders and ensure participants are served the appropriate meal in a timely manner.
  • Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes and adaptive feeding equipment.
  • Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Ensure proper labeling of food placed into storage.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained.
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Registered Dietitian.
  • Follows fire safety, infection control practices and hazardous chemical practices, and uses cleaners and other hazardous materials in accordance with facility policy.
  • Follow Federal and State regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures.
  • Follows cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Takes daily attendance and prepares tray tickets.
  • Attends and participates in training, in-services and staff meetings.
  • Performs all other duties assigned under the direction of the Registered Dietitian and Center Manager.
