About The Position

WelbeHealth PACE provides comprehensive medical care and community-based services to help seniors remain in their homes and communities. The Dietary Assistant (Kitchen Aide) supports the delivery of safe, therapeutic nutrition services at WelbeHealth day centers. This role receives vendor-prepared food and prepares it for participant meal service, monitors and records food and equipment temperatures as directed, and maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen. The Dietary Assistant also supports food storage, meal preparation, inventory tracking, and ordering replacement supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• California ServSafe and Food Handlers Certification.
• At least one year of experience in food service or preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintain certification thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Dietitian in providing safe, therapeutic nutrition services that meet the diverse needs of participants.
• Maintain acceptable storage standards for vendor-prepared food before meal service.
• Measure and record food temperature upon delivery and at regular intervals before serving, ensuring food remains safe and within the ranges specified by WelbeHealth policies and procedures.
• Prepare and plate food for meal service, following participants’ dietary cards for specific diets, preferences, and special needs.
• Label and date perishable food in WelbeHealth refrigerators and freezers, including pre-packaged meals for home delivery, and ensure food is fresh and safe to consume.
• Record inventory of dishes, silverware, food supplies, and cleaning supplies, and order replacements as needed.
• Keep the kitchen area clean and sanitary at all times.
• Verify that cooling and warming equipment temperatures are recorded as directed.
