About The Position
Arms Acres in Carmel, New York, is seeking a Dietary Assistant to help prepare and serve functions in the Dietary Department. This full-time position has varying days and hours. The role follows food preparation, service, storage, and sanitation procedures established in the operations manual and by the New York State Department of Health and Arms Acres. Duties include maintaining kitchen and storage areas, preparing the salad bar, and preparing and delivering meal trays and supplies to patients.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Up to six months of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
Responsibilities
- Follow food preparation, service, storage, and sanitation mandates and procedures in the operations manual and those established by the New York State Department of Health and Arms Acres.
- Clean, rotate stock, and organize service lines, coolers, and storage areas inside and outside the kitchen.
- Stock and prepare items for salad bar setup, including drainage, sanitation, and rotation of the salad bar unit.
- Prepare, assemble, deliver, and retrieve meal trays and supplies for patients on all units as needed.
- Keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot.
