About The Position
Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community is hiring a Per Diem Dietary Assistant to work a varied schedule. The pay range for this opportunity is $16.00 - $16.30.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate with residents and staff in English.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to visually observe residents, to hear emergency systems and verbal needs expressed by residents.
- Ability to turn, stoop, bend and stretch in order to assist residents.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to use equipment competently.
- Ability to respond to emergencies, i.e. resident choking, evacuation of residents and visitors in the event of fire.
- Must have the required annual Tuberculosis (TB) testing and Annual Health Assessment.
- Must be aware of and apply the standards of sanitary food preparation.
- Must have the required references and criminal record check.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years experience in the food service industry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assuring that food preparation/sanitation practices and policies are followed in a safe environment.
- Assures that residents are prepared and served the diet prescribed by their physicians according to the menu of the day.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Director of Dietary Services.
