Requirements

  • Proven management experience within dietary or food service departments in healthcare or assisted living settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supervising food production teams, managing budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Strong background in clinical nutrition, dietetics, or related fields with knowledge of acute care nutrition practices.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for electronic health records management and documentation.
  • Knowledge of health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance is essential.
  • Leadership skills with a track record of team management, staff development, and fostering collaborative work environments.

  • Experience with assisted living or long-term care environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the food service team to ensure efficient operations, high-quality meal preparation, and exceptional resident satisfaction.
  • Supervise daily food production activities, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and health code compliance.
  • Oversee dietary department functions including menu planning, inventory control, and budget management to optimize resources and minimize waste.
  • Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition needs, including tube feeding protocols and diagnostic evaluations for individualized care plans.
  • Ensure all food service activities comply with health regulation policies and safety standards across the facility.
  • Train and develope staff to provide world class service at meals
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation of dietary interventions, patient progress, and care coordination.
  • Provide leadership in managing food safety management practices while fostering a team-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Prepare monthly schedule to ensure adequate staffing for cooks and dietary aides
