About The Position

The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. Assists residents when placing orders from the menu, provides beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea), and refills salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal. The role requires reporting any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor, understanding sit-down service and proper serving techniques, and having a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) and knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques. Responsibilities also include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the kitchen and dining room, attending required in-services and staff meetings, and completing all other assigned duties. The position requires attentiveness to the special needs of residents, including those with mobility deficits or memory impairment, and assisting with tray service. Adherence to confidentiality policies regarding resident information and polite, considerate interaction with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors are essential.

Requirements

Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.
Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects.
Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room.
Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
Complete all other duties assigned.
Be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.
Assist with tray service.
Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
Interact in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors.
