About The Position

The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. Assists residents when placing orders from the menu, provides beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea), and refills salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal. The role requires reporting any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor, understanding sit-down service and proper serving techniques, and having a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) and proper food storage and labeling techniques. Responsibilities also include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the kitchen and dining room, attending required in-services and staff meetings, and completing all other duties assigned. The Server must be attentive to the special needs of residents, including mobility deficits and memory impairment, and assist with tray service. Following confidentiality policies regarding resident information and interacting in a polite and considerate manner with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.
Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles.
Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision.
Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects.
Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
