About The Position

Forest Acres Post Acute is seeking a dependable, energetic Dietary Aide who enjoys making a difference in the lives of residents. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, and ensuring food safety. The Dietary Aide will work as part of a team to provide exceptional resident care and create a warm dining experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to learn food service routine within a short period
  • Ability to read technical procedures
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Team player who enjoys helping others
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift

  • Dietary or food service experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation and tray assembly
  • Serve meals with a friendly smile
  • Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and organized
  • Wash dishes and sanitize equipment
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work alongside an awesome team to provide exceptional resident care
  • Set up meal trays
  • Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes
  • Assist with serving the different meals
  • Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift
  • Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles
  • Operate dishwasher
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks
  • Sweep and mop kitchen
  • Carry out trash and garbage
  • Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner
  • Clean work surfaces and refrigerators
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors
  • Participate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff
  • Work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments
