About The Position

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus. South Port Square is a 40-acre campus in Port Charlotte, close to Charlotte Harbor and Punta Gorda, and has been meeting the growing needs of retirees and seniors for over 30 years. It is one of twelve retirement communities in Florida managed by LCS. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred.
Can understand measurements and conversions.
Are team players!
Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
Serves meals in the health center.
Sets up tables in the health center dining room and breaks down same after meal.
Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center.
Transport all required nonfood items to and from the health center.
Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition.
Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
