About The Position

We are currently seeking Casual Dietary Aide's to join their team at Idlewyld Manor! Idlewyld Manor is an accredited, non-profit charitable long-term care facility with 192 beds and situated on Hamilton’s west mountain. Our facility sits on a picturesque 13-acre corner lot surrounded by trees and lush gardens and is steeped in a rich history of community service of over 150 years. Requirements

Must be able to read and write English as well as be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must have training and experience in quantity food production and service.
Must have current Food Handlers Certification.
Minimum Grade 12 education.
Must be reliable, conscientious, neat, clean, and demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with others.
Must be flexible and able to work to deadlines.

Nice To Haves

French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

Provision of highest quality food service to residents, visitors and staff
Safe food handling practices and proper sanitation procedures in keeping with Ontario Regulation 243/84 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act (Food Premises)
Portioning of meals and desserts
Assisting the Cook with food preparation as needed
Cleaning dining rooms and serving areas
Operation of the dish-washing machine and cleaning equipment
May be requested to assume the duties of the cook in his/her absence
