About The Position

The Dietary Aide supports the dietary team in providing nutritious and appealing meals to residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, serving food, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that dietary needs are met according to individual resident care plans. The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents through proper nutrition and excellent service.

Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, and capability to handle hot and cold food items.
Basic understanding of food preparation and safety procedures.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary guidelines.
Serve meals and beverages to residents in a timely and courteous manner.
Adhere to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences as outlined in their care plans.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety protocols.
Report any changes in residents’ conditions or concerns to the nursing staff or supervisor in a timely manner.
Assist with inventory control by checking and storing food supplies.
Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner.
Work closely with other dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless meal service and address any resident needs.
Follow all facility policies, health regulations, and safety procedures.
Complete mandatory training and attend meetings as required.
