The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with and serving meals and beverages according to facility procedures, ensuring safe-handling standards for sanitation and quality. This role involves proper storage of food to maintain cleanliness and prevent spoilage, accurate recording of meals served, and monitoring food temperatures. The aide will also be responsible for cleaning assigned dining areas, washing dishes and utensils, and ensuring compliance with sanitation standards, including obtaining ServSafe certification. Participation in menu planning and ensuring safe food receiving, storage, preparation, and service are also key aspects of the position. The role requires protecting food throughout all phases of preparation, holding, service, cooking, and transportation, and the ability to communicate effectively within a team. A strong understanding of food safety and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
