Dietary Aide - Part Time - Evenings 4 pm to 7 pm
About The Position
Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a 5-star rated nursing home providing compassionate care since 1943, is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their close-knit team. This part-time role involves assisting in the preparation, presentation, and distribution of freshly prepared meals. The Dietary department is a key to the facility's success, and they offer training, support, and development opportunities with a focus on internal promotion. The position is ideal for college or high school students, or the newly retired, offering 3-4 hours per day during afternoon/early evening shifts.
Requirements
- A positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to cooperate with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong and courteous customer service skills, to work within a diverse workforce while providing service to our residents, family members, vendors, and coworkers.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Prior cooking experience helpful, but not essential.
- Prior experience in healthcare, food service or related field preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist cooks in the preparation of food as needed.
- Coordinate with team members for meal service periods.
- Follow residents' individualized meal plans, ensuring all items are present for meal service.
- Follow standardized and specialized recipes to adhere to all specialized diets.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely according to training and experience.
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and appliances.
