About The Position

Set up and serve meals to residents in the St. Paul’s Manor in an expeditious and courteous manner.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate with, be interested in, and have compassion for the elderly.
• Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, in the English language.
• Must be able to read menus.
• Should have good organizational skills to meet deadlines and goals.
• Needs to have the ability to work in a team environment both in dietary and the overall health care team.
• Must be able to maintain professional composure under stressful conditions and situations.
• Ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language.
• One year of food service experience as a diet aide, preferably in senior living/health center or institutional food service department.

Responsibilities

• Sets up tray service (dishes, flatware, glasses, etc) and carts for the residents.
• Portions out desserts, salads, soup and cereals for each resident diet.
• Serves hot and cold foods while adhering to portion controls and diet modifications.
• Transports carts to and from the Manor.
