About The Position

As a Dietary Aide at Long Term Care, you'll contribute more than just your professional skills; you'll create meaningful relationships with the individuals who call Sienna Senior Living their home. This position allows you to deliver compassionate care to our residents through your responsibilities in dietary services. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

Requirements

  • Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
  • Committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
  • Detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
  • Successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
  • Possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
  • Follow residents' diets and food preferences
  • Take the menu orders from the residents
  • Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
  • Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques
  • Ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’
