About The Position

White Oak Manor York is looking for a Dietary Aide to join their team and make a difference in the lives of the residents. This role involves preparing daily meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and assisting with inventory. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of food preparation, special diets, menu adherence, food safety, and sanitation, along with a positive attitude and commitment to quality service and cleanliness. The position requires a self-motivated team player who can work well under pressure and maintain a fast pace in an active kitchen.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to follow menus and special diet instructions
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a steady pace
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality service
• Reliability and attention to detail
• Six months experience preferably in institutional food preparation or related field.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in providing dietary services in the long-term care industry is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and service of daily meals following planned menus
• Prepare food in accordance with special diets and resident needs
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and other kitchen-related duties as needed
• Work collaboratively with the dietary team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Support high standards of quality, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction
