Dietary Aide General Purpose The Dietary Aide supports the Cook and Dietary Supervisor by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Assignments may vary based on the needs of each shift. Essential Duties Learn daily food-service routines quickly Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals Clean and break down returned trays; wash dishes Operate dishwashing machine and monitor water/chlorine temperatures Prepare snacks and nourishments Stock groceries in a clean, organized, and safe manner Sweep, mop, take out trash, and maintain kitchen cleanliness Clean work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators Maintain sanitary standards in all kitchen areas Assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed Participate in new staff orientation and ongoing training Work cooperatively and respectfully with all departments Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Must obtain and maintain a valid food handler’s certificate Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Standing and walking for extended periods Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, tasting, smelling, and verbal communication Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching Adequate vision for close and distance tasks, color identification, and depth perception Work Environment Noise level is typically low to moderate Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities EEO Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
