About The Position
Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes is a 106-bed skilled nursing facility located on eight acres of scenic wooded land. It is the area's leading provider of short-term rehabilitation, blending superior programs and services with a contemporary healing environment. Apple Rehab is a family-owned and operated company that treats residents and staff like family. The Dietary Aide assists in the preparation of meals and snacks, as well as the cleanup of dining areas. They also assist with receiving, rotating, and storing supplies and food, and have daily interactions with residents. The role involves cleaning work areas, washing dishes, pans, and utensils, and complying with infection control, safety, and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensuring food storage and work areas are clean and safe, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained is crucial. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations and reports any violations to their supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch
- Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights
- Ability to lift large items up to 50lbs
- Ability to write and record data
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency
- Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner
Responsibilities
- Assists in preparation of meals and snacks
- Assists with clean up of dining areas
- Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food
- Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils
- Complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility
- Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner
- Ensures that equipment and supplies are properly maintained
- Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations
- Reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor
